The Institute for Building Technology and Energy (IGE) at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) ensures healthy indoor environments and hygienically sound building installations. We develop reliable and sustainable concepts, both technical and organisational, that balance the conflicting priorities of hygiene, efficiency and cost.
Visit websiteThe IGE has proven expertise in the areas of indoor air and drinking water quality. Samples are analysed using modern methods in the in-house microbiological laboratory. This means that project partners and customers can benefit from a combined service offering in which analysis and hygiene assessments are seamlessly integrated. With its own laboratory for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitary engineering (HVAC), the IGE also offers the possibility of conducting tests and investigations in a laboratory environment. Under controlled and adjustable conditions, a wide range of issues are examined in a practical manner and validation measurements are carried out. The IGE also prepares expert reports on hygiene issues as well as on thermal comfort, light and acoustics in buildings. In addition, it carries out on-site measurement campaigns with a focus on building hygiene and an optimal indoor climate.
