SURE™ – Cleaning with the power of nature

In today's world, the use of natural, reusable and recycled materials is critical to reducing environmental impact and conserving resources. Diversey's SURE product line does just that.

Diversey Sure Reinigungslinie Bearb

SURE™ is a range of plant-based cleaning and hygiene products specially developed for users with high environmental and safety standards who do not want to compromise on cleaning performance.

The comprehensive range includes products for building cleaning and hand hygiene. All SURE™ products contain only plant-based ingredients and are 100% biodegradable through natural processes. They are free from artificial fragrances and colorants, quats, chlorine, phosphate and oxygen compounds.

All ingredients come from renewable sources. These are by-products of the agricultural and food industry, such as sugar beet, maize, straw, wheat bran and coconut, for which there was previously no use.

The SURE™ range meets the demand for more natural and sustainable products while delivering proven and professional cleaning results from Diversey. Environmentally friendly and safe for the user, the range helps you meet customer expectations and achieve your environmental goals.

In addition, all SURE products are Cradle to Cradle certified.

What does “Cradle to Cradle” mean?

Cradle to cradle describes the use of materials in continuous cycles. In contrast to the usual linear system known as Cradle to Grave, with Cradle to Cradle all components of a product are used again and again. The materials do not become waste, but are either used as new raw materials in biological cycles or reused in technical cycles.

In a perfect circular economy, the “ideal cradle to cradle world”, all goods are produced in such a way that:

  • A) the raw materials used are biodegraded after use and returned to the natural material cycle as “nutrients” (biological cycle) or B) can be processed into new goods without losses (technical cycle)
  • Toxic or environmentally hazardous substances and composite materials that cannot be recycled by type are excluded from the product design
  • The energy for production and redesign comes from renewable energy sources.

The Cradle to Cradle philosophy stipulates that every element or material used in a product can either be recycled, reused, composted or consumed. This requires that all materials are toxicologically safe and it requires a product design that enables the separability of all components. All materials used are either technical or biological raw materials.

Technical raw materials are limited to non-toxic, non-harmful synthetic materials that do not harm the environment and can be used again and again or recycled without any loss of quality.

Biological raw materials are organic materials that decompose naturally and can be returned to the ecosystem without harming the environment.

The circular principle also applies to energy and water. The ultimate goal of all Cradle to Cradle manufacturing processes is to be carbon neutral and powered by 100% renewable energy. Water is seen as a precious resource and the aim is for wastewater from processes to be of drinking water quality.

Cradle to Cradle certification

Certification is awarded at the basic, bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels, with a product coming closer and closer to the perfect cycle, the cradle to cradle ideal, as the level increases.

The product is tested and evaluated in the five categories:

All five ratings then result in an overall rating of basic, bronze, silver, gold or platinum, which must be reapplied for every two years.

Certification of the SURE range

All SURE products from Diversey have been awarded Cradle to Cradle Gold certification.

They contain no hazardous substances for humans or the environment, the C2C emission standards are met and 65% of the components are recyclable. In addition, the Gold requirements for the use of renewable energy, CO2 emissions, water management and social responsibility are met.

With the Cradle to Cradle Gold certification for the SURE product line, Diversey is taking a further step towards comprehensive sustainability within the company and for our customers.
